Call For Participation The 3rd annual Turkish Eclipse Summit is being hosted in Istanbul on April 28-29, 2009. The EclipsIST Summit is Turkey’s premier event designed to create opportunities for the Turkish Eclipse community to explore, share, and collaborate on the latest ideas and information about Eclipse and its members. The summit will consist of one day of talks and presentations followed by one day of technical tutorials sessions. Sponsors supporting the EclipsIST 2009 summit will showcase their latest products and services, as well as the exciting contributions their organizations are making to the Eclipse ecosystem. The summit is a stimulating and dynamic event for Eclipse committers, contributors, adopters, add-in providers, and service providers to learn, share expertise, and discover new opportunities and solutions in the Eclipse ecosystem. EclipsIST is now calling for participants for the 2009 Turkish Summit. There are many ways to participate in EclipsIST 2009. The easiest way is to register and then show-up at ITU - Suleyman Demirel Cultural Center Maslak, attend the sessions, converse with colleagues, and use the hallways and lunch tables to both teach and learn about Eclipse. Or if you would like to take a little more active role in EclipsIST, we invite you to submit your talk or tutorial. So you want to be a Presenter Thank you for taking the time to consider presenting at EclipsIST 2009. The success of the Summit is primarily based on the presentations that are put on by people like you. We would love to be able to provide a speaking slot to everyone. Unfortunately, we have a limited number of slots. Please pay careful attention to the March 2, 2009 submission deadline. Type of Presentation Choose the type of presentation. EclipsIST has a variety of presentations: talks, tutorials, demos and posters. Choose the right style for your topic. Talks: Presentation should go into detail and/or demonstration on a topic. A good talk requires preparation and a good pace; the EclipsIST audience is typically intelligent and well prepared and thus any introductory material should be very brief (less than five minutes). There will be a parallel sessions competing with your long talk (in separate rooms, of course), so your talk needs to be compelling. Tutorial: Prepared tutorials may include coding and/or hands on workshop lasting approximately 120-minutes including 15 minutes for audience questions and answers at the end. Attendees who invest two hours of their time at your tutorial have high expectations. All tutorials must include a take-away, for instance an example project with setup instructions that allows the attendees to experiment after the session. Demos and Posters: The purpose of having demos and posters is to foster interaction among fellow participants. Ideal content would be topics that are easier to explain in a dynamic conversation rather than a prepared presentation, information that lends itself to visual representation, and projects that would like to raise their profile. Posters and Demos are an excellent way to provide one-on-one opportunities to attendees. How to Submit a Talk or Tutorial Proposal Presentation Materials: Presenters are encouraged and expected to make their presentation material available to the community. Presentations will be automatically revealed through the EclipsIST website. Sponsors are welcome (even encouraged) to retain their copyright while making the material available under the Eclipse Public License or a Creative Commons license; material under other licenses will not be displayed on the EclipsIST website. Presenters must submit the following by March 2, 2009
